How to import photos into Adobe Lightroom from your computer

“Your photos are linked together with the catalogue when they are imported into Adobe Lightroom”

Follow these guidelines to import picture(s) into Lightroom

A folder on your hard drive can be used to import photos, you can also import from an external drive.

Your photos are linked together with the catalogue when they are imported into Adobe Lightroom.

During the import process, you work your way from left to right in the import window. (Check the workspace for the part labelled A, B and C) [check the diagram below].

A. First, on the left, identify what files you want to import (the source files).
B. The middle of the window, is the preview area for the imported photos.
C. Finally, on the right is the options and destination panels, where you can edit, manipulate. This is where the great look takes place.

Do one of the following to open the import photo(s) (Though there are many other ways you can import in Adobe Lightroom)

–  Click the Import button in the lower-left corner of the Library Module.

–  From the main menu, choose File > Import Photos and Video.

–  Drag a folder or individual files from the Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS) into the Grid view, and then click Import.
